Dan Heywood – Quality gardening in South Manchester
Garden maintenance
From border care and shrub pruning to year-round care and development of your whole garden, please get in touch to see how I can help.
I will use plant knowledge, skill and hard work to keep your garden as healthy and well-maintained as possible.
When maintaining gardens I always keep an eye out for practical ways in which they can be improved upon. Plant positioning, for example, ideas for new plant combinations or different ways of pruning and shaping trees and shrubs for better effect.
In this way, quality maintenance will keep your garden looking at its best throughout the year.
If you are a keen gardener yourself (or plan on becoming one) I am always happy to act as a ‘garden tutor’ in order to help you get the most out of your garden in the future.
Alongside regular garden maintenance I can also take care of most small/medium tree issues you may have.
I have many years of experience in maintaining, tweaking and generally getting the most out of plants and gardens.
Garden improvement
Garden maintenance doesn’t have to solely involve maintaining what’s there.
All gardens benefit from maintenance and development. I like to think of it as garden design in a gradual form, building one idea upon the other, observing and improving.
Gardens don’t stay still. That’s one of the things I love about them. They are living and breathing environments, differing from season to season and year to year.
If you think the planting in your garden could benefit from improvement but you're not quite sure where to start, please get in touch and see how I can help with the following and more:
- selection and planting of suitable new plants for any space
- year-round colour and interest in the garden
- improvements on planting layout and combinations
- renovating old plants
- thinking of creative ways to enhance what’s already there
Even small changes to the planting of a garden can make a real difference year-round to the overall aesthetic and feel.
Changes and improvements to the planting can of course also be made with wildlife in mind, increasing the amount of pollinating insects, birds and the broader biodiversity of your garden.
I am a firm believer in the ‘right plant, right place’ principle, and can find planting solutions for any demanding areas of your garden.
Please don’t hesitate in contacting me if you’d like help in developing your garden, whether you already have plenty of ideas of your own or not.
The garden has flourished under your guiding spirit. Thank you so much.
Quite simply, Dan does what he says he will do, when he says he will do it. He is reliable and the quality of his work and attention to detail is first class.
Dan has helped us transform the garden over the last few years. We enjoy his thoughtful approach to gardening, working with its natural features, ensuring that our garden is wildlife friendly and attractive at all times of year.
Dan really took the whole family’s needs for the garden in to consideration and created a design that we all love. He cleverly zoned the garden which makes the small space feel more spacious and interesting and gives both adults and kids their own areas of the garden.
Dan has been both an inspirational gardener and a real pleasure to work with – his knowledge and understanding of plants combined with focus and hard work has meant that my garden has flourished.
Our school has extensive grounds and we struggled to find a good gardener until Dan came along. Dan offers a very rare service: he is efficient, creative, reliable and affordable.
